The Story of Il Cortile: A Journey of Passion and Revival.
Every great place has its turning point.
For Il Cortile, that moment came in 2022, when Giorgio and Federica, a couple from Salento, in the heart of Puglia, took over what was once a simple Italian deli and gave it a completely new vision.
With a passion for authentic Italian food, coffee culture and genuine hospitality, they transformed Il Cortile into something much more than a shop.
Today, Il Cortile is a family-run Italian café, restaurant and deli where guests can enjoy artisan coffee, fresh food, pastries, deli produce and the true warmth of Italian hospitality, right in the Courtyard at Moss End Garden Village.
Inspired by the traditions of Southern Italy, especially the flavours and welcoming spirit of Puglia, every detail reflects the way we believe food should be experienced: simple, authentic, generous and shared.
Whether you join us for breakfast, lunch, a "pizza al taglio", a "puccia salentina", an aperitivo or simply to take a little taste of Italy home, our goal is always the same:
